An integrated “section internationale” entails 6 hours of English tuition, including English Literature, English Language, Geography & Science. There is an age-appropriate entrance test to get into the Integrated Primary Section and students must be strong academically, in both French and English.
For the classes of CP and CE1, the pupils have 3 hours incorporated into their French Primary timetable and 3 hours on a Wednesday morning (9-12). All their lessons take place at Pasteur Primary School.
For the Section’s CE2, CM1 & CM2 students, they have their 6 hours incorporated into their French Primary timetable and all their lessons take place at Pasteur Primary School. They have NO lessons on a Wednesday.
The students attend Pasteur Primary School, La Celle Saint-Cloud for the French national curriculum on a full-time basis, but come together for two 3-hour periods, typically either 2 afternoons or 1 morning + 1 afternoon. These English classes are taught by an experienced English mother-tongue teacher.
Families living outside the catchment area for Pasteur Primary School but within the town of La Celle Saint Cloud can apply for the Primary Integrated Programme WITHOUT needing a dispensation (“dérogation”). However, places are dependant on the number of children in Pasteur Primary School and are not guaranteed.
If you live outside La Celle Saint-Cloud, and your child is admissible for the Integrated programme, you will require a dispensation. These are requested by Section Internationale during the commissions with the National Education Board; as they are limited, they are awarded on merit.
